Bobby Poyner

Bobby Poyner began his calling career in 1982 with help from his father, Bob Poyner, along with many other local and national callers. In late 1992, he taught his first beginner’s class and has maintained at least one class every year since. He maintains a full-time calling program at home while traveling part time throughout the Midwest and nationally doing dances, weekends, festivals, and conventions. Bobby has called in Denmark, Sweden, and England and has been a featured caller for the Harvest Hoedown and Labor Day Jamboree in California, the IAGSDC Annual Convention and Fly-Ins, as well as the Michigan State Convention. He has been on staff for Chicago Country Records and is currently on staff for Crown Records, recording since 2017. Bobby currently calls SSD through A-2 and is available for private parties, one-night events, lessons, workshops, dances, weekend, festivals, and conventions.
